PhD in Prehistory and Ancient History by the Universidad de Barcelona. Research Professor in CSIC (State Agency Council for Scientific Research). She is part of the IMF-CSIC since 1990 and founder of the Laboratory of Archaeology and the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology in that institution. She is currently president of AMIT-Cat Association (Association of Women Researchers and Technologists in Catalonia). Member of the Comissió Dona i Ciència (Secretary of Universities and Research-Dpt.Empresa Coneixement i) of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

She has researches in theoretical and methodological basis of archaeological science aimed to the knowledge of early human societies and socio-political role of such research in current and future society.
