Civil Electrical Engineer from the Universidad de Chile, Diploma in Management from the Faculty of Economics and Management in the same university, where Sr. Nicolai was also an academic in the Electrical Engineering Department. He was Executive Director of “Telefonica Mundo”, Vicepresident of Corporate Affairs of Telefónica Chile and General Manager of INTERCOM, among others. In 1999 he assumed the Executive Secretary role of the National Energy Commission and in 2000 served in the rol of Under State Secretary in Telecommunications in the President Ricardo Lagos  government period . Between 2006 and 2008 Christian Nicolai worked in ECLAC,  in diverses projects of the Division of Productive Development in the ICT area.

In the last  period Christian Nicolai has developed an extensive consulting activity and advisory services in Regulatory affairs and public policy in the topics of Information Technology and Communications, Management in the Public and Private Sector, Strategic Planning and Management Control, in Chile and in international context.
